Shortwave, from Shaun Inman (the maker of Mint), is a bookmarklet (?) that allows you to search quicker. Not just Google and Wikipedia, you can create your own command file that customises the sites/services you can search.
Once you have Shortwave on your toolbar, with one click and then typing “g simon”, I’ll search Google for “simon”.
