Movies now available to rent or buy in Apple iTunes (link requires iTunes). This brings some much needed competition to what must be a currently small market. Looking at the prices, buying an older movie, $17.99 or $12.99 and to rent $3.99; new releases, $24.99 and to rent $5.99. The rental conditions are good to, 30 days rental, 48 hours to watch.

Hi Simon… Problem is that iTunes (and QT) have become such obnoxious pieces of software (on PC’s), I’ve banned them from my machines! I’ve converted my iPod to a bog standard MP3 player that I manually update (my music collection rarely changes). I have to say, it’s nice being Apple free! grin

Or maybe its the user that obnoxious wink I find iTunes a little slow to load, but other than that its great. Do you think the movies will auto sync onto the iPhone/iPod Touch?

@Simon: no, lets not go there! @Tim: iTunes has become absurdly bloated and a massive memory hog, and there is abundant evidence around the traps that it cripples system performance on lots of machines (my previous XP system included). QT keeps trying to take over as default video player, and nags and nags about upgrading to ‘Pro’, etc, etc, etc And like I want to watch video material on a teensey, weensey iPod screen? (Like watching TV on a mobile phone!)
