Think Secret has details of Apple’s contract with record labels for selling tracks on iTunes. Certainly looks like Apple will be making a good profit. Profit, mind you, is dependant on keeping your customers.

I was looking at this album (seen on Flying Nerd) in iTunes. Customers are clearly not happy with a stuff up by Apple.

Giz a hint? As a non-user of iTunes, I can’t share in the joke.

It seems that for that album, “She will have her way: the songs of Tim and Neil Finn”, two of the tracks were incomplete. So, there are a lot of customer reviews in iTunes that explain their unhappiness.

Aaahhhh. Well, that’ll do it. Personally, I prefer to own the (physical) CD for my music, and have the opportunity to compress on my own terms when I need to. For my Rio Karma, I use the Ogg Vorbis encoder, which is usually considered to be substantially superior to MP3 (at same bit rate) and usually a little bit better than WMA as well. But I’m not trying to start a compression standards debate. Whatever works for any individual or application is fine by me!
