Audio Control in Vista

I’ve not been keeping up with the features of Vista, but one nice feature I stumbled across today is a vast improvement to audio control. For example, the ability to set different volume levels for the audio coming out of various applications. That is, to fix the problem where, for example, you’ve got the audio turned up because some podcaster has created an MP3 with a very low level, then an email arrives and you’re startled by the very loud Windows notification.

Apple OS X users. Does Tiger have per app volume?

Not sure about OSX, but linux does, or at least nome desktop apps.
