… and not one of them to an Australian billing address (ok, one or two may have slipped through when there was a backdoor open).

I’ve been dirty about this for a while. We were told last October that Australia would be included but it didn’t happen. Then we got a tip that it may happen in May to coincide with the release of Russell Crowe’s internet only album (how they could have missed that opportunity defeats me). I feel we are being overlooked because we would only add another 2% of their already huge coverage. Sure, cover the major bases first, ie USA, Europe, etc, but don’t forget the little guys, we like music too.

Whilst the problem is likely due to an Australian based record label rather than Apple, there are some doubts with that theory – like why do their overseas parent companies have no issues? and how come Bigpond Music can manage downloads in an Australian market? The problem in Australia may be a record label, compounded with a lack of effort on the part of Apple to resolve the issue. At the moment, I am loathe to buy music on CD or download, until Apple’s iTunes store opens.

I have also had to seriously consider any CD purchase for the last few months. I used to buy alot of CD’s but know I’m hanging for the iTunes Music Store launch. I’m sure it will happen….eventually
