The rumour websites had it nearly right, but were off with the timing. The release of a larger (23”) iMac with the Intel Core 2 Duo (what a stupid name, it’s like an “ATM Machine”) was expected next week. Apple have, released an entirely updated iMac line. All iMac’s now use the Intel Core 2 Duo, and they’ve added a 24” model to the range (previously 17” and 20”).

The 24” model also has a faster graphics card, Firewire 800 and improved sound system.

The 24” model starts at A$ 2,999.00 ($2,699.40 Education pricing).
