A new video podcast from Leo Laporte, Alex Lindsay and Scott Bourne. Gear·Media·Tech is about pro audio gear for podcasters, but from the first episode it looks like it will be good for anyone interested in audio gear and also people who just need to get the basics of audio gear (e.g. musos). The first episode covers mixer basics. Also available in the iTunes directory. [via Podcasting Tricks ]

The TWiT podcast(/“netcast”:http://www.twit.tv/2006/09/22/a_cast_by_any_other_name) network has been expanding rapidly, but until now has really had an Apple slant. This week, TWiT has launched Windows Weekly.

I’m a fan of the podcasts from the TWiT Network (or iTunes link). Leo Laporte and friends have just launched MacBreak Weekly which, as the name suggests, is a weekly round-table on Apple news. Complements nicely the occassional video version of MacBreak.

Even if you’re not into Apples, the other podcasts from TWiT cater well for tech-heads, e.g. open source, security, web 2.0, media and even biotech.

TechCrunch is a blog dedicated to tracking the happenings of Web 2.0. An awful term, Web 2.0 has different meanings depending who is using it – but general refers to application-like behaviour of web-sites; e.g. Gmail.

As a spin off from TechCrunch, TalkCrunch is a podcast discussing the same topic. Episode 1 was about online calendars. Episode 2, is about Social Networking.
