TACWeb Redesign Part 3 - Front Page
- Date Stamp:
- 21 June 2005
- #
Continuing the TACWeb Redesign series, this article considers the front/home page of the web-site.
The current home page is full of information, probably a little too much. So, following on from the discussion of target Audience this article begins to get a bit more specific, looking at the content of the home page.
Thinking about the target audience, and trying to keep it simple, the front page might look something like:
Visitors
Visitors would be presented with a brief welcome message, that would link to further detail about Christianity, our regular Church meetings and activities.
Optional content depending on space might include:
- a line or two about some of our key outward facing activities, like, Sunday Church meetings, One80 Youth Group and .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
- a brief paragraph about the church.
Members
Members are likely to be more interested in three pieces of content:
- brief listing of what’s happening this week at church (in the Sunday meetings)
- latest sermons available on the site and,
- the rolling blog content
Members might also be looking for other helpful content like rosters, but rather than providing links, I think a specific Members item on the main menu would be good.
If you’re a member of Toongabbie Anglican or someone who would fit into the Visitor category, what would you expect/like to see on the front page of a Church web-site?
