Widgets are not interesting

Looking to buy a new computer, but a little underwhelmed with what’s on offer.

My current computer is a little long in the tooth. I’ve been looking around for a while considering my options. I’m pretty certain that my next machine will be an Apple – but the recent news of Apple moving to Intel processors has delayed my desire to purchase – just in case something whizz bang is wheeled out.

Having said that, if you’re reading this Mr Steve Jobs, I’m not going to buy your computer because of widgets… so why occupy the Apple homepage with a featured widget? There must be better features to OS X than a bunch of widgets which are not obviously useful.

Aside: If you’re on a Windows machine and want widgets, check out Konfabulator. I did a while back, and found it underwhelming.
