Twittering and Powncing

Categories: Web Life,

So, I’ve set myself up on Twitter and Pownce.

If you’ve got no clue what that means, well Twitter is a “social networking and micro-blogging service” (so is Pownce although slightly different).

These services are more for “off the top of your head”, “what are you thinking/doing” type posts. And, already I’m more frequent at posting there, than on this blog.

One of the problems is that most of the people I’m following on both services are in the US, meaning they’re quite when I’m online… and active when I’m asleep – meaning you’re not part of a conversation – you’re just playing catch-up.

The other problem is “who cares”? That is, who cares what you’re doing right now?

Lots of people are getting excited about these services, not just in the tech-head circles, but even in education circles. Not in my education circles – Twitter is blocked.

Hi Simon, thanks to a backlink from your excellent post, I’ve discovered you blog, website and twitter ID. I’ve added you to my ‘watch’ list as I like the combination of ideas your are exploring here in your online space. Great to catch another Sydney-sider!
