Windows attaches a sound to the “Start Navigation” event. This event is basically anytime you move around folders in Windows Explorer. I can’t stand it… so I disabled it. I’ve noticed many times now that it turns itself back on.

What’s going on? Why won’t Windows let me turn this sound off permanently? What is turning this sound back on?

A quick Google search revealed little… except that some people actually want this sound in more applications!
