One search string that continues to bring visitors to this site is something like “amazing race channel 7”. So, here’s another post to add to Google’s index.

Looking at the TV guide in Sunday’s paper, I noticed that The Amazing Race All-Stars starts this Thursday on 7.

“All-Stars” is Season 11, in this popular show. The aim of “All-Stars” is to pit against each other “the teams that have earned the most attention over the last 10 seasons” (src}).

Thing is, Season 10 has not yet been seen on Australian television. Which wouldn’t matter, except that two teams from Season 10 are in Season 11!

Seven even recognise the problem with a page on their site. AllStars Unknown profiles the two Season 10 teams, who Australian audiences have not yet seen on their TVs.

This is really an odd, if not stupid move by Channel 7 who continues to get fans of this show off-side*.

*For some further details of why fans should be annoyed:
Season 10 finished airing on US television in December ’06
So far US viewers have seen 9 episodes of Season 11.

Never really gotten into the Amazing Race series’ so I’m unaffected this time. I have in the past had to resist checking the American website for episode details when the delay was only a week or two for Survivor: Outback and 24.

Just don’t tell me you’re surprised by ‘really odd, if not stupid’ actions on the part of Oz TV stations…

Try being a motorsport fan if you really want to see a raft of weird programming decisions that seem to defy logic. These guys seem to think that they can confuse us into liking them! Oh well, I reconcile such behaviour as all being part of mankind’s fallen state. (Hope you are enjoying the school hols.)
