Term 3 (all 11 weeks of it) has begun…

On this first day of classes, I wanted to note to myself… and you get to read it also… a little of how the day went down. You see, to me it didn’t seem that great. But, maybe the first day of terms 2, 3 and 4 is always “off”, but I haven’t noticed yet. So, here are some brief notes for future comparison.

  • Whilst the students have been bored during their holidays, they would still prefer to be at home bored than at school.
  • They haven’t seen their “friends” for 2 weeks (sidenote: why not? shouldn’t you see your friends in the holidays?) and so are chatty, very chatty…
  • They’ve been in 2 weeks of minimal organisation/structure, so getting back into the structure and expectations first day back seemed like a struggle for some.
