Jod is the name of our iPod Shuffle.

The device is stunning – no wonder so few stores actually had them in stock this Christmas.

Without a screen, you might think the functionality of this device would be minimal, but Apple have made this a very usuable device. It just works.

Integration with iTunes is seamless. I’ve never tried a non-iPod MP3 device with my PC, but I’m pretty confident that the iPod-iTunes relationship is far better than what Windows Media Player would offer.

The Shuffle, as the name suggests, will shuffle (random) through the songs loaded, or with the flick of a switch it plays straight through. This is where one of those nice Apple touches comes in. There’s no stop button, so to go back to the start of the playlist quickly, you click the play button three times quickly.
