Double Letters

I think the current state of Australian politics has more to do with double letters than political partys.

There’s our new PM, Kevin Rudd.
Premier of TAS, Paul Lennon.
Premier of QLD, Anna Bligh.
Premier of NSW, Morris Iemma – he must be good, double double letters.
Premier of SA, Mike Rann.

Clearly the Australian voters preference for double letters meant that John Howard didn’t stand a chance and Peter Costello would have been a better candidate to put his double L against the double D of Rudd.

My theory has a problem with:
Premier of WA, Alan Carpenter. But he wasn’t voted in, he replaced Dr Geoffrey Gallop – another double double letter.
Premier of VIC, John Brumby. Mr Brumby better watch out, the opposition leader is Ted Baillieu – double inside a double.

And, I’m going to skip the Territories, except for:
Chief Minister of Norfolk Island, Andre Nobbs

I wonder if this is a global trend? If it is, Barack Obama should withdraw now and leave it to:
John McCain – does the little c big C give it more omph?
and Hillary Clinton.
