Being away from an internet connection, I read about the outcomes of the 2020 Summit in the papers.

There’s a lot of blogger fodder from the summit, but one revelation documented in the article, Shock of real world for business chiefs, may have meant the summit was worthwhile.

The boss of Macquarie Bank, Allan Moss… had been shocked to learn the best-paid teachers could only expect to take home $65,000 a year at most.
“It was actually a revelation to me,” said the banker who earned $33.5 million last year. A note was hurriedly added to the butchers’ paper list of areas requiring attention: “Teacher and academic salaries.”
