Categories: Church Web Sites,

I haven’t really been keeping an eye on the stats for the old Toongabbie Anglican Church site, but I knew that around Christmas we receive lots of referrals from two sites. One being Google Images and the other, a site that links to wallpaper (for your computer).

It seems that our Christmas Wallpaper is very popular.

Here are some stats:
Page views for the /christmas/ page:

  • Oct 2005: 198
  • Nov 2005: 875
  • Dec 2005: 16548

JPG file type views:

  • Oct 2005: 3754 hits, 26.40 MB (bandwidth)
  • Nov 2005: 10224 hits, 96.60 MB
  • Dec 2005: 109568 hits, 2.35 GB

Referrals (links) from Google Images:

  • Oct 2005: 273 hits
  • Nov 2005: 952 hits
  • Dec 2005: 22962 hits

Referrals (links) from the wallpaper site:

  • Oct 2005: 37 hits
  • Nov 2005: 121 hits
  • Dec 2005: 143 hits

I will admit, the immediate thought on seeing all this activity around the Christmas wallpaper was to get some Google Ads there, and make some money. But instead… I put a link to the Real Meaning of Christmas.

It looks like a good idea – I can’t access that page – its seems to be “timing out”. Is this because everyone is reading about the true meaning of christmas?
