I’ve realised the problem with this blog was not it’s location, but my interest.

Thanks to Tim for noticing that the Bureau of Meteorology have noted the problem of using the no-www version of their web address, a little bug-bear of mine.

It’s really easy to embed videos from sites like YouTube and photos from sites like Flickr into your own web-site. But what I’ve found recently, is that the embed size options don’t quite fit my site. So, for example, on the Subprime Crisis post just a little earlier, the smallest size offered by YouTube was 320×265. However, 320 pixels is too wide for my layout (at least on the front page). In the past, I’ve resorted to the calculator, or even Excel to find the height required for a preferred width, say 230 pixels. Now, I’ve made a little online app to do it for you:

If you’re in a feed reader, pop on over to the actual site, and you’ll notice I’ve spruced the place up a bit.

According to FeedBurner, there are 38 people subscribed to the main (blog+elsewhere) RSS feed of this site (7 subscribe to just the blog and 5 to just the elsewhere feeds). Wow. Obviously, nothing like the numbers subscribed to Gadgetopia (consistently one of the best tech sites), but still significant in my opinion.
This site started in April 2005, and as I was a student through 2005, it was relatively easy to keep it fresh. However, with a job for 2006, I suspect I will be a little busier.
