With the launch of the Mac App Store and my recent purchase of an iPhone, I’ve been installing a number of apps recently. Some are worthy of sharing with other Mac/iPhone users.

Without trying to explain why I like Twitter, let’s just say it’s good. I previously posted about various apps that took Twitter out of the browser. In a comment to that post, Mark Bowen pointed me towards EventBox a Mac OSX app. Here’s a short review of EventBox.

When I bought my current mobile (Ericsson T630) a few years ago – yep I’m not very up-to-date on mobile technology – I quickly found the annoyance that is syncing a mobile to your computer.

Many people can’t live without their mobile phone. Mine… lives in my bag and is rarely used. But the iPhone interests me, more because of it’s internetability than as a telephony device.

To readers of the non-Apple variety, sorry, another Mac related post – although I do point to two Windows apps. This one is about an app to handle backup and synchronisation.

If you haven’t read the Macworld ’08 post, you might want to start there, it has details, this post is a bunch of blah (commentary) that will be updated through the day.

Well, I couldn’t get up at 4am… seriously, I didn’t even try. But I am going to watch the keynote stream a little later today with a fellow Mac fan. My post this time last year was called Macworld for Americans because the products being released were not available to Australians – guess what, similar this year.
These initial notes are from wandering through apple.com; haven’t looked at the blogs yet and as I said, haven’t seen the keynote. So I’ll likely make another post today, with some further commentary. This post may also be corrected through the day.

This mornings MacWorld keynote had grand expectations to live up to. Analysts and Mac fans days/months before MacWorld, were listing the numerous products expected to be released. However, whilst I haven’t watched the keynote yet, it seems only 2 things made the podium and a 3rd was released to the show floor.

The WWDC ‘06 keynote is over, and nothing unexpected was released. That’s one of the problems with Apple launches, intuiative guesses could tell you what key products will be released, then the rumours speculate on the one more thing. Thing is, this time there was no one more thing.

The Apple WWDC 2006 begins next week and as is expected when nearing one of the two key events in the Apple calendar, the rumours are flying (at TUAW for example). Mind you, the MacBook was released without even a press conference as I recall.
